In conversation with Wendy McCarthy.

Discover the stories that shaped one of Australia’s most highly awarded authors, Heather Rose, as she discusses her new memoir with trailblazing feminist and author Wendy McCarthy.

In her first book of non-fiction, Nothing Bad Ever Happens Here, Heather teases out the memories that inspire her writing.

She offers her insights on nature, spiritual adventure, the bonds of family, and the lessons of pain. And her memoir draws out what it took to explore the deeper mysteries, necessary to becoming a writer.

Heather Rose is the author of award-winning Bruny and The Museum of Modern Love, which won the Stella Prize in 2017. Both books are being adapted for screen.

Wendy McCarthy is one of Australia’s most influential women: an educator, activist and agent of change. Her recent memoir is Don’t Be Too Polite, Girls.
