About & Ticket Info
Join us to meet one of Australia’s most influential women: educator, activist and agent of change Wendy McCarthy.
Don’t Be Too Polite, Girls is Wendy’s inspiring memoir, filled with insider stories about being female in Australian public life - as well as a few survival tips! As Wendy has done over decades of feminist activism, it encourages readers to find their voice and listen.
Wendy’s generation changed Australia for good, fighting for women’s education, equal pay, access to contraception, abortion and childcare – their mantra was ‘A woman’s place is in the House and in the Senate’. She played key roles in the ABC, University of Canberra, Women’s Electoral Lobby, National Trust and much more.
Wendy McCarthy AO will be in conversation with our own Jenny Bott AO of Bundanon Trust, Australian Museum, Australian National Academy of Music and Southern Highlands Foundation.
Tickets $55 (includes author talk and one-course lunch)
