Debra Oswald is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter and novelist. Her books include Useful and The Whole Bright Year – and she’s widely known as the creative behind TV’s Offspring.

Debra’s new novel is The Family Doctor, a compelling thriller that’s fast-paced and frightening. It’s also a timely truth-telling about domestic violence in Australia and the flawed systems that allow it to continue.

This riveting moral thriller tells the story of Paula, a suburban GP devastated by the murder of a friend and her children. Paula knows she has patients whose lives are at risk from violent partners, but what can she do to help them when the law consistently lets them down? The answer will provoke heated debate.
